The Spirit of Fear is NOT of God!
“God has
not given us the Spirit of Fear; but that of power, and of love and of a sound
mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7
It is quite natural to be
conscious of physical things that could harm you. When face-to-face with these occurrences,
fear naturally kicks in as means of protection.
For instance, you would not step off the curb in front of a moving
bus. You would not put your hand in a
snake pit. You would not reach into a
burning fire place. Healthy fear is
natural and needed to keep us safe, well, and alive.
On the other hand, the
“spirit” of fear is unhealthy. Spirit
emphasizes the soul and the nonphysical part of one’s emotions and
character. When fear is nonphysical and
imaginative, always lurking in the seat of one’s emotions, then it becomes
paralyzing and controls our lives in ways which hinder happiness and the
pursuit of purpose and dreams. This fear
is not natural and is often developed by past traumatic experiences; and,
sometimes are taught to us by our parents and friends.
The opposite of the
spirit of fear, is the spirit of love, the spirit of power, and the spirit of
soundness of mind, which implies that the spirit of fear could also be the spirit
of hate, the spirit of weakness and crippling
discouragement, and the spirit of mental instability. All of these spirits keep us from trusting
God and His perfect plan for our future.
Unleash that spirit today, by asking God to free you from it and by
creating affirmative thoughts that negate the constant fears that control your
days and nights. Only you know what they
are.
Thought

the most challenging hurdles to jump in your life; but, it can be done with an
intense desire and steadfast intention, which drives you day after day. The question is, “how bad do you want your
