As I reflect upon the abuse, neglect, rejections, and exploitation
of women for thousands of years, my soul cries out for my ancestors as well as
for my predecessors; for, there seems to be little hope for the future based on
the stories today. I can only imagine
that my slave mothers and sisters had hearts open to love, before their men
were snatched from their homes and coupled with other women to keep the slave
industry alive and well. I pity my
sister slave owner whose husband betrayed her with the woman of color she
entrusted with her possessions and offspring.
My heart bleeds for today’s woman who’s lost her husband or children’s
father to the modern day slavery systems called prison, addiction, pornography
and infidelity. I feel the aches in my
belly for my sisters who trusted a father, uncle, or family friend as a
caregiver only to have something to go so wrong. I soak my pillows for my sister who lost
their innocence in an untimely manner. I
scream for the strong sister with a voice and opinion but is ridiculed, beaten,
ostracized, and even murdered because of it.
I know without a doubt that they once had an open heart to
freely LOVE and now it is hardened as means of protection, uncompromising
against men and untrusting towards women. Oh, how I feel the pain of my
sisters. WE so desperately need LOVE
again! Right now, we are only surviving.
We are unknowingly holding our breath, carrying the cares of the world
in the tension knots in our bodies. We’ve
got the bottled up tears that we refuse to cry that are manifesting themselves
in every manner of cancer and disease in our organs. We need a refuge, a place to be safe with our
hearts, our secrets, our shame, our guilt, and our confessions. We need each other! We need sisterhood! We need LOVE!
We need hope! We need to exhale!
Let’s breathe and bow our heads and pray this day, that we
can eliminate impatience, envy, arrogance, rudeness, self-seeking, provoking
spirit, and continual thoughts of evil and fill our heart and souls with
kindness, patience, a celebration of truth, longsuffering, and endurance of
love which are highlighted in I Corinthians 13: 1-8. Let’s us Love in spite of what has happened
and exemplify unfailing, forever, true LOVE for our God, ourselves, our
families, and our sisters!
Let this be your safe place!

Thank God for Praying Women!! My heart has been broken, empty, hurt, and numb for a long time now. My spirit has been broken and I been fighting in a spiritual warfare. But God,through you, Kreslyn, stepped in right on time. I need this journey and I thank God for your obedience and sacrifice of reaching out to us. I pray that God will do everything that He said He would do if we ask and believe. I'm Ready!
